Geneva Manilova

FOUNDER & LEAD PRACTITIONER

Geneva entered the field in 2004 and hasn’t worked outside of it since. She enrolled in a therapeutic massage therapy program the following year, began treating patients in student clinic by her third semester, and was licensed as a Registered Massage Therapist in British Columbia by 2010. She practiced for twelve years in Vancouver and Toronto before relocating to Hallandale Beach, Florida in 2022 to open Valenna Health.

What sets her work apart is not any single credential — it’s the range of disciplines she draws from and how they inform each other. Geneva holds a BSc in Community Health and Preventative Medicine. She spent over a decade practicing simultaneously as a manual therapist and a certified personal trainer, treating clients in clinic and training them in the gym. That dual practice is where the connection between soft tissue, joint function, movement, and posture became impossible to separate — and where the foundations of her method took shape.

Her clinical training extends into functional neurology through the Carrick Institute, where she studied under Dr. Matthew Antonucci, and into neuroscience through Harvard’s Fundamentals of Neuroscience program. She holds certifications in NeuroKinetic Therapy and is a certified Neurolinguistic Practitioner. These aren’t decorative credentials — they directly inform how she assesses, how she communicates with patients, and how she structures treatment to produce lasting change.

Geneva has also taught at the post-secondary level. In 2019, she served as a sports massage therapy instructor at Langara College in Vancouver, where she received the Golden Apple Award for teaching excellence. She has been listed on the College of Massage Therapists of British Columbia’s mentor registry since 2010, advising newly licensed practitioners on clinical practice, professional development, and continuing education.

The teaching thread runs through everything she does. Every practitioner at Valenna Health is personally trained in the Valenna Method — the same assessment-driven, structurally focused approach that Geneva has developed over 15 years and more than 13,000 clinical hours.

It is common for her to see family members, friends, and colleagues of existing patients for many years.

"I've had hundreds of massages at high-end resorts internationally. Geneva stands out. It takes much more skill to be therapeutic - and she individualizes treatment based on a thorough assessment."

"Geneva is the best RMT I have ever had. I'm an athlete which requires specific treatments in addition to deep tissue massages and Geneva alleviates my tight muscles every time. Before I came to her, I struggled to find an RMT that could reach the trigger points properly. I am extremely satisfied and look forward to my regular scheduled treatments every few weeks."
